Aashna Lal joined The Hastings Center in September 2021. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2021 with majors in Biology and Plan II Honors.
During her time at the University of Texas, she researched human-centered design in healthcare artificial intelligence and served as an intern for organizations such as The Livestrong Foundation and LifeWorks Austin. Through her senior honors thesis, she examined the effective altruism movement in global health, focusing on philosophical and economic shortcomings of the movement.
