Call for Nominations: 2025 Hastings Center Cunniff-Dixon Nursing Awards

Nominations are open for the 2025 Hastings Center Cunniff-Dixon Nursing Awards. Prizes of $25,000 each will go to three nurses who provide outstanding end-of-life care, based on compassionate service and merit. Nurses at all levels of practice (LVN/LPN, RN/APRN) qualify for nomination. Deadline for nomination is January 31, 2025.

The Cunniff-Dixon Foundation, whose mission is to enrich the provider-patient relationship near the end of life through education, collaboration, and recognition, created and funds the awards. The Hastings Center, the oldest independent nonpartisan bioethics research institute, cosponsors the awards.

The awards selection committee is composed of Betty Ferrell, director of nursing research and education and a professor at City of Hope in Duarte, Calif.(chair); Ashley Leak Bryant, associate professor of nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; Lynn F. Reinke, endowed professor of palliative care at University of Utah; Tamryn Fowler Gray, associate professor of clinical instruction at the Carolina School of Nursing; and Billy Rosa, chief research fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
