How Should We Live Together as Citizens of an Aging Society?

In the U.S., the aging population has reached a historic milestone: More people are over 65 than under 15. The latest episode of The Big Question features Hastings senior research scholar Nancy Berlinger exploring the opportunities and challenges of an aging society. The Big Question is a collaboration between The Hastings Center for Bioethics and the Museum of Science in Boston.

Berlinger talks with Hastings Center President Vardit Ravitsky and bioethicist Insoo Hyun of the Museum of Science who is a Hastings Center Fellow about closing the elder care workforce shortage and designing age-friendly communities that promote healthy aging and intergenerational connections. They also discuss whether assistive robotics in elder care could meet growing needs, inviting us to imagine a future where longer life comes with greater quality of life, and where we all age with dignity, together.
