Applications Open: Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Global Bioethics Mentorship Program

Applications for the inaugural cohort of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Global Bioethics Mentorship Program are now open. This new Hastings Center program offers a one-year remote opportunity for project-focused mentorship for early-career bioethics researchers from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Application deadline: August 1.

The SNF Global Bioethics Mentorship Program pairs researchers who have completed their doctoral degrees within the past 10 years with mentors who will be selected from among the Hastings Center Fellows for focused work on a project to advance the researchers’ professional goals. Examples of potential projects may include the development of scholarly manuscripts and publication strategies, bioethics curricula, digital resources, or research plans for funding proposals.

The SNF Global Bioethics Mentorship Program will also include activities to foster peer learning and community-building among early-career researchers and mentors. All activities and mentoring sessions will be conducted in English. Early-career researchers will have monthly meetings with mentors plus monthly sessions with peers and program staff. Researchers selected for this program may have opportunities to request support for conference travel, training programs, or similar activities relevant to their mentored projects.

“The launch of the SNF Global Bioethics Mentorship Program creates exciting new opportunities for collaboration through the nurturing of the next generation of bioethics researchers globally,” said Hastings Center President Vardit Ravitsky. “We are grateful to SNF for their partnership and vision.”

The Hastings Center will invite seven applicants to join the program in 2025-26. The application and FAQs are available here
