Ellen Jewett is managing partner and founder of Canoe Point Capital, LLC, an investment firm focused on early-stage social ventures.

Jewett serves on the board of directors of JetBlue Airways and Booz Allen Hamilton and sits on the board of trustees of Children’s Aid in NYC. She is trustee emerita of both Brearley School and Wesleyan University. She has served in leadership capacities on the boards of Grace Church School, Planned Parenthood of NYC, and New York Presbyterian’s Sloane Hospital for Women.

Jewett was the managing director, head of U.S Government & Infrastructure for BMO Capital Markets. Prior to that she spent more than 20 years at Goldman, Sachs & Co. specializing in infrastructure financing, serving as head of the public sector transportation group, and previously as head of the airport finance group. She began her career at the New York City Department of Housing, Preservation & Development innovating an energy conservation program during the then energy crisis.

Jewett earned a master’s degree from the Yale School of Management, an MSc from University College London (Psychoanalytic Theory), and a BA from Wesleyan University. She lives in New York City with her husband, Richard Kauffman, and has two grown children.
