Hastings Center Welcomes New Board Members
Four international leaders in healthcare, medicine, and AI entrepreneurship have joined the board of directors of The Hastings Center for Bioethics.
“They are highly accomplished innovators in their fields who have global perspective and impact,” says Hastings Center President Vardit Ravitsky. “I look forward to working with them.”
Sheila Hopkins is a legal executive with over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, most recently serving as Chief Legal Officer at Norgine BV, having lived and practiced in the United States, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. She has served on multiple boards and governance committees, specializing in governance, compliance, and cross-border legal operations. Read more.
Diana Lee is the cofounder and CEO of Constellation, a global AI technology company transforming enterprise content creation for regulated industries. She founded the company in her apartment in 2016 and built it into a nine-digit valuation business with over 200 employees and a headquarters at One World Trade Center. Under her leadership, Constellation became one of America’s fastest-growing private companies. Read more.
Mary Beth Quaranta Morrissey is a nationally recognized healthcare attorney and researcher. Dr. Morrissey concentrates her research in gerontological health and social work and in phenomenological psychology. She is the founder of the Collaborative for Palliative Care, a nonprofit organization that provides evidence-based workforce education and training in aging, health and public health, and palliative care. Aseem R. Shukla is the incoming Chief of Pediatric Urology at Cohen’s Children Hospital, System Vice President of the Pediatric Urology Service, and Director of Pediatric Global Services for Northwell Health, effective February 2026. He will be appointed as Professor of Urology at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University. Until December 31, 2025, Dr. Shukla serves as the Endowed Chair and Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Professor of Surgery in Urology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
