The Professional Ethics Forum publishes commentaries about current ethical challenges facing professionals, including doctors, lawyers, journalists, executives, clergy, and others. This platform is hosted and produced jointly by FASPE (Fellowship at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics) and The Hastings Center for Bioethics, as organizations with a core mission of exploring and addressing current ethical issues that impact today’s society.  

• Begin by stating the issue or problem.
• Give your general opinion and support it with a few key points. Don’t feel you have to be comprehensive. The aim is to be persuasive, not to cover all the bases of a topic.
• Write in a conversational style for a general audience. Consider writing in the first person if you have a personal story relevant to the topic.
• Use links to sources, rather than endnotes.
• Close by summing up your opinion and offering recommendations.
• Aim for about 1,000 words.
