Solomon R. Benatar, a Hastings Center Fellow, is an emeritus professor of medicine at the University of Cape Town, a visiting scholar at the Joint Centre for Bioethics at the University of Toronto, and co-editor of Global Health and Global Ethics. He is also a recipient of the Henry Knowles Beecher Award.
