WHAT IS THE CONNECTION?

The Connection is an open conversation, a group blog, and a call for submissions. The Hastings Center and Health Affairs are partnering to give bloggers and blog readers a chance to improve the conversation around health reform.

All are welcome to submit a post with the form on this page. We will be featuring these submissions on an ongoing basis on this site and on the Health Affairs blog, and compile a number of them into a second print-on-demand collection.

WHAT SHOULD I WRITE ABOUT?

How American values matter in the debate over health reform. The eleven values of the Connecting American Values and Health Care Reform collection - such as liberty, responsibility, justice, and solidarity - are a starting place. You are welcome to discuss any of them, but you don't have to. You can respond to an essay, riff on a theme, or go in your own direction.

HOW LONG SHOULD IT BE?

Between 400 and 1000 words. A little over, or a little under, is fine.

DO I RETAIN OWNERSHIP OF MY WRITING?

Absolutely. By submitting to the Connection, you agree to allow us to publish your post here - with credit, and a link back to your blog. And if your post is chosen for the final, printed collection, we'll publish it there as well. We will never publish your writing without your name, and we will never ask you to refrain from posting it elsewhere.
