Bioethics Fellowship Program
Department of Bioethics, National Institutes of HealthThe Department of Bioethics at the National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services, invites applications for its Bioethics Fellowship Program. Two-year Fellowships begin in September 2008. Fellows will study and participate in mentored research related to the ethics of clinical medicine, health policy, human subject research, international research ethics, genetics, and other bioethical fields of interest. For a typical fellow, this research yields multiple publications in academic journals. They will participate in bioethics seminars, case conferences, ethics consultations, IRB deliberations, a clinical research training course, and multiple educational opportunities at the NIH. No bioethics experience is required or expected. Postdoctoral applicants should have a PhD, MD, JD, or other advanced degree in a relevant field. Predoctoral applicants should have a BA or similar degree and plans for postgraduate work. Applications should include: CV; one-thousand-word statement of interest; a writing sample(s), not to exceed thirty pages collectively; official graduate and undergraduate transcripts; and three letters of recommendation. Postdoctoral application deadline is December 31, 2007. Predoctoral application deadline is January 15, 2008.
